My Favorite Thieves Products with Young Living

Thieves products have become some of my favorite items that I use daily. There are so many but I will try to share just a few. Let me tell you a little about Thieves Essential Oil Blend. "This unique Young Living blend is a carefully crafted balance of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils and is infused into home and body products you can safely use every day. Our Thieves line offers the versatile products you need to clean your home effectively and to support your family's wellness."

The Thieves Essential Oil Blend is a must have oil for me. I diffuse it with other oils to promote a healthy balance and leaves the room smelling great. If I feel like I am coming down with a cold or something like that, OR I am going on a trip and I want to promote good health while I am on my trip, I put a carrier oil (either coconut or almond oil) in my hand and add a couple of drops of Thieves oil and rub my hands together. Then I rub the oil onto the bottom of my feet and put socks on at night. I make sure I wash my hands with soap to get the oil off my hands because cinnamon is a warm oil and it can burn if it gets in you eye. If it does, do not try washing it out with water. Put a small amount of carrier oil in your eye to get it out with.

The Thieves Household Cleaner is a must in my home. It is concentrated and you add two cap-fulls to a spray bottle with water. It goes a long way and cleans great. The kids love it because it fills the house with a wonderful cinnamon and lemon smell. I love it because it cleans well and isn't made with harmful ingredients that can ruin clothes or hurt the kids or myself if we breathe it. The little bottles of Thieves Spray are great for taking on trips because you can spray doorknobs, handles, etc.

They came out with the Thieves Laundry Soap not long ago and it is my second favorite product. I have a front load washer and no matter what soap I used my clothes and towel just didn't smell that great after coming out of the dryer. since using this laundry soap they smell great no matter how long they are in the cabinet and even hanging in the bathroom after one use. It is a small container but it takes so little to do a load that it will wash 64 loads of clothes. You just need 1/4 of a lid.

The dish soap has Thieves, Jade Lemon and Bergamont essential oils. Jade Lemon is one of my favorite oils! This dish soap cleans well and fills the room with a wonderful smell. No harmful ingredients getting on your hands or on your dishes.

If you are trying to get away from harmful products you are probably trying to buy healthier foods. The fruits and veggies we buy tend to have pesticides on the outside of them. Thieves Fruit & Veggie Soak and Spray are designed to safely and effectively wash produce with the cleaning power of Thieves essential oil blend. It works great. When I do a big grocery run I fill up a tub and put the Thieves Soak in it and add my produce to soak. Then I put them in the fridge ready to eat. I take the spray with me on trips so if we are out and about we can use that to clean our produce.

One cleaning product I haven't put a picture of is the Thieves Foaming Hand Soap. I got the 3 pk and then bought the refill bottle. I keep one in each bathroom and one in the kitchen. When we go on trips I take one with me. It is easy for the kids to use in the bathroom and goes a long way to help save money.

When it comes to my oral care it is Thieves all the way! It got tired of all the harmful ingredients in oral care products at the store. I was thrilled to find Thieves Aromabright Toothpaste. It has Thieves, Peppermint and Spearmint essential oils. It doesn't take a bunch and I think the taste is pretty good. It actually helps whiten your teeth. The Thieves Fresh Essence Plus Mouthwash is a great thing to use after each time you brush. It floods your mouth with the ingredients to promote healthy teeth and gums. And what is oral care without a great dental floss? Thieves Dental Floss has the Thieves and Peppermint.

So there you have it! I love my Thieves products so much. They have replaced so many harmful products in my home. If you are interested in learning more about them, please feel free to let me know. I love talking about them!!!

My First Flylady Purchase

I am trying hard to get back into "flying" with Flylady. It is such a struggle for me. It is my goal to start the new year actually flying each day. To me that means doing my morning and evening routines and actually attempting each days zone instructions. So far I just read them and think to myself "I could go do that" and then don't.

I purchased some things from the Flylady store to help me get started. There are more things I would LIKE to get from the store and will after the first of the year. One of the things I got wasn't for cleaning but it was for doing something they talk about on Flylady, drinking your water daily. I got one of the water bottles and it is GREAT. I want to get one for both the teens and one for my hubby. It will keep our water cold on bike rides and other adventures. I keep mine filled all day long and I have been drinking more water this whole week. I got the duster to help make it more fun for my daughter to do her dusting and to be a more effective job since this one actually attracts the dust instead of just moving it around. I purchased two of the Scrubba toilet brushes and the kitchen set. I also got some purple rags plus a small scrubba. You can check them out on the website for more information on what they do.

Until next time...blessings to you.

What's My "Job"?

Do you ever ask yourself that question? As a stay-at-home mom who also runs a business out of my home I sometimes can get caught up in the worlds way of looking at things. I don't know how many other moms have that happen but I can't imagine that I am the only one.

In my quest to honor my husband one of the things that has been brought to my attention is the house and laundry. I know my husband feels proud and happy when the house is clean and organized so that he can find things when he is looking for them. So I have been praying for the desire to get things done and the energy to do so.

When we went to a marriage retreat last March I purchased a few books. There are always so many great books for help and encouragement with marriage, parenting and other great topics. The one I picked up today that I have been reading through in little bits is Celebrate Home, Encouragement and Tips for Stay-At-Home Parents. It talks about going from a job outside the home to the one in the home. And how it is a calling as well as a job. I agree with that, although sometimes I have forgotten that it was true. Shame on me.

Today I opened the book up to Chapter 5 Your Agenda: A Stay-At-Home Mom's Daily Duties", page 134. The title of the section was Cleaning House: Do I Really Have To? Boy did that catch my attention. Of course, I knew the answer was yes. She put some scripture verses in a section about doing the work but not liking it attitude. They really spoke to me. I would like to share them with you.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." Colossians 3:23

She mentions that it doesn't say "whatever you do that you really like to do." That is very true. I never looked at it like that before. Really makes you think about it.

"God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7

She mentions that we are "giving" continually as homemakers. Giving of our time, talents and energy. More than we care to think about, at times. As a mom we have committed to so many jobs and as people say "we wear so many hats". It can be very tiring. And sometimes we are not the least bit cheerful.

"Do everything without complaining or arguing." Philippians 2:14

She mentions that again it isn't "do just the fun things without grumbling or disputing." And that even though we try so hard to teach our children to do things we ask cheerfully we don't always set the best example. How many times do we gripe because of the chores we have to do, the laundry that has piled up or the lack of help with any and/or all of the chores that we have to do? I know I have been guilty many times.

So if I can give these things to the Lord and admit that I fall sadly short in this area and take the steps that the book says I should take to get a grip on it : Organize, create a workable plan and delegate, then I know that God will be faithful to bless my efforts.

It does talk about how we are to not sacrifice our time with our babies when they need rocking and read stories while they want to be read to. We need a healthy balance. We just need for things to be workable and orderly for us.

"Let everything be done in a fitting and orderly manner." 1 Corinthians 14:40

So even though I can't do things perfectly the Bible does encourage me to find a fitting and orderly way of doing things. So as my days go by I am going to work towards a goal of finding a way of doing things that will line up with what Scripture instructs me to do. I know I have so many goals but they all seem to point to one big goal that each of them lead to: Bringing glory to God and pointing all successes to Him and reasons for getting up each day. The Bible teaches that "God's mercies are new each day." So we can rely on that. If we mess up one day then we can start over and begin again. We are to forget what was yesterday and face a new day with hope. I need to remind myself of that so often at times.

I hope that by my sharing what I have learned and am learning that it has encouraged someone else to keep their chin up and their eyes on Jesus. He is the only One that can give you the hope for each new day. Being a homemaker is a very important "job". One that the world has decided is beneath us and not worth our time. That is one of Satan's lies. Don't believe him. Chose to believe God's Words to us instead. They hold the key to true peace and happiness.

Until next time...blessings to you.

30 Day Challenge

We arrived home on Sunday night/Monday morning at 4 a.m. I got the kids in bed and did my best to fall asleep quickly since I had to get up at 7:30 to start watching kids. My darling husband drove the whole day/night so he slept most of Monday. I kept thinking I needed to get this post on here yesterday but never found the time or energy to do so.

My goals for this past week were to listen to my husband more intently and to get the sarcasm out of my voice. I did pretty well on those points, but not perfect. We were on vacation so we were more relaxed than we are at home with all the things going on here. I did make it a point to keep my mouth closed as he was talking to me or our friends. I found out a lot of things that way, imagine! I have a tendency to talk so much and if I am not careful I take up all the conversation. And I am with little children, mostly infants, all day so I am starved for that conversation. I found out some great insights from doing that. Amazing how that happens. Also, I am sure that he felt better because I was listening and made it a point to let him know that what he said was important enough for me to listen to. The sarcasm has been a little hard. Not because I wanted to be ugly, just because it is habit. We mostly do it to be "funny". I did a little better.

My goals for this week now that we are back home are more back to the original. I want to meet him at the door and walk him to the door when he leaves for work. I need to take a lesson from my kids. They run to their dad if he is coming or going. They did that last night and he started to "act" impatient but I grinned at him and told him he loved it and he knew it. His return grin told me I was right.

I want to make a huge effort to have a home cooked meal on the table for him each night when he gets up (he works the night shift) and a home cooked meal when he gets home in the mornings. That is a huge chore for me because I am so tired at the end of the day. The last thing I want to do is cook a hot meal that will steam up my Texas kitchen! It is hot enough already. And in the mornings it is busy when he gets home because children have already arrived. But it is usually easier in the mornings.

Also, I have fallen down on the job of laundry. I have it clean (except what I brought back from vacation) but I do not have it put up. I have all of his clothes folded in a basket for HIM to put up. And even though at times I feel justified in doing that, when I really think about how hard he works and how hard a night schedule is on a person I know that it isn't right for me to do that. I need to make his time at home as easy as possible where he can spend time with his kids and me and not feel like so much is there for him to do. He is already my Mr. Fixit. There is always something that needs fixing. Like today before he went to bed he had to fix our air conditioner because it wasn't draining properly and it was going into the carpet in the hall. So with things like that coming up, he really doesn't need to have to worry about trying to find his clothes before work. I feel terrible because of it. But some days, I just don't have it in me to do anything about it. You would think that after my vacation I would have more energy to get things done. Maybe I will after a weekend to catch up on the laundry, cleaning and paying bills.

Until next time...blessings to you.
